Trivia[]
- In a deleted scene of the 2005 film, Norman asks Mr. Salt the question "Is it just me, or does Mr. Wonka seem a few quarters short of a buck?", to which the latter responds that he does not speak the American variant of the English language.
- The meaning of the sentence would be "twenty five pence short of a Pound Sterling", with quarters referring to pence (the British penny coin) and buck being a slang term for the U.S. dollar.
- Interestingly, the 2005 film version's actor, Adam Godley, is British, adopting an American accent for the role.
