Julius Rottwinkle is a major character in the novel, Matilda, including its film and musical adoptions.
Description[]
Little is known of Julius but he is also a student of Crunchem Hall.
Appearances[]
Book[]
The character is only mentioned by Hortensia as the boy who was thrown out of the window by the Trunchbull for eating during class hours. When the Trunchbull paid a visit in each class for a weekly checkup, she came to Rottwinkle's classroom where a Scriptures lesson was held, and caught him consuming licorice allsorts.
1996 film[]
This incarnation of the character remains the same as the novel, but he is depicted as eating two M&M's candies during a literature class. Like the book, his incident with Trunchbull is mentioned by Hortensia.
