Roald Dahl Wiki

Georgina Barenett is the maternal grandmother of Charlie. She is Grandpa George's wife and Hellen Bucket's mother. She is played by Dora Altmann in the 1971 film, and Liz Smith in the 2005 film.

In the first book she was a minor character, but the sequel developed her more; in this case she was fairly selfish and irate, and constantly threw complaints at Wonka. However, she had to be rescued from Minus Land by Wonka and Charlie after an overdose of de-aging Wonka-Vite.

In the 2005 film her character was very different. She was very spacy and rambling, always throwing nonsensical statements, but by the end of the film it is hinted that she's smarter than she seems.
