If the witches in The Witches are evil, why isn't Matilda. She's basically a witch. Is she the only good witch? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't read The Witches yet.)

I don't really read Roald Dahl books but a friend was at my house so I just put a random film on and that was Matilda. My friend had to go when we were like 5 mins into the movie so I continued watching by myself and WOW. The plot is really good but I had a thought when I finished it. What if there was a sequel? I know Roald Dahl has died but...
This is where you can put in your thoughts on your favorite characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Wheter it be the incredible candy maker Willy Wonka, the Innocent and selfless Charlie Bucket, the fat and hilarious Agustust Gloop, the pretty and beautiful Violet Beauregaurde, the rotten Veruca Salt, or the TV obsessed Mike TeeVee.
